Wooden watercolor box (incl. empty 18 half pans)

This is a handmade watercolour box made of durable European hardwood oak. Each piece is slightly different with a unique wood grain, the overall dimensions however stay the same.

The lid has a mixing tray inside, made of epoxy resin. The box opens and closes with four magnets attached in every corner and can hold up to 18 half pans. It's designed specifically for our 3D-printed half pans and 18 empty half pans are included (you can, of course, buy more of them separately).

How is it made?
The layout is custom designed using our imagination and drawn using CAD software. We built a CNC router to cut the design into the wood and after that it's carefully sanded by hand to keep the rustic feel. To finish we apply an oil coat to make the wood waterproof. Magnets are put in place and held down with a touch of glue. Once that is finished the logo is cut with a laser directly onto the finished product. Everything is made at our family studio in our home, besides the wood of course!

Why oak wood?
Oak has outstanding durability, high fungal resistance, an indefinite lifespan of 200+ years or more.  It's strong, heavy and dense with a very close and unique grain.

Will other half pans fit?
This palette is designed for our half pans to have a snug fit. Half pans of other brands might fit if they are about the same size as our pans, if they're larger, they probably won't. We always have our 3D-printed half pans in stock if you would need them!

What is the size?
The size is about 16cm x 10cm with a height of 3cm. Please allow some wiggle room in these measurements; oak is a living product after all.
